This meet sets out to explore the multiple slate quarry workings in the Langdale Valley, many of which are seldom visited yet contain much of interest.

Meet grade is easy with no technical requirements.

It is essential that you let the meet leader know you are joining the meet at least a week before the date of the meet. Meet capacity is set to suit the conditions likely to be encountered and is allocated on a first come first booked basis.  Note – mine exploration is inherently a high-risk sport and it is not possible to remove all risks. Whilst CATMHS seek to support exploration in a safe manner, it must be recognised that significant risks will remain and the safety of the activity will ultimately depend on the ability of the group and individual participants to take sensible actions to ensure exploration is conducted with a reasonable margin of safety. However, accidents can happen and luck plays a part in this.  All participants must accept the risks involved and agree to hold CATMHS, meet leaders and other meet members harmless in the event of loss, injury or death. BCA 3rd Party Insurance for Underground Activities must be held by all participants if they wish to join in the underground elements of any meet.
