This is a walk around the Coppermines Valley to see just how much of the Copper mining legacy still remains on the surface and a short distance underground. Meet in the lane behind the Ruskin Museum at 9.30am. There is free parking on this lane. Grade Easy and suitable for beginers.
Note – mine exploration is a high-risk sport and it is not possible to reduce all risks to a low level. CATMHS (a CIO) seek to support exploration in a safe manner while recognising that significant risks will remain and the safety of the activity will ultimately depend on the ability of the group and participants to take sensible actions to ensure exploration is conducted with a reasonable margin of safety. However accidents and incidents can happen and everyone taking part in this event do so at their own risk.
