DESCRIPTION:Richard Neilson will lead a meet to the little visited but inte
 resting Hartside Barytes Mines which were worked by the Hedworth Barium Co
  Ltd of Hebburn and later acquired by B. Laporte & Co. working the mines i
 nto the 1940’s when the Barytes was taken to Silverband Mine. The coal m
 ines in the area are also being visited\, and all the mines were connected
  to various tramways. Check here or with the meet leader before coming to 
 the meet as it will be weather dependant given the area being visited is e
