A meet to visit the underground workings at Caudale Moor slate quarry above Ullswater.
The trip will access the underground workings via SRT to see the 3 levels and many artifacts in this interesting and unusual mine.
Weather and time depending we will also explore the surface workings.
GRADE: Severe
The trip is suitable for members who are competent in SRT both up and down and are proficient at rebelays, deviations and the use of rope protectors.
FITNESS
Caudale moor quarry is situated at 600m, accessed by a steep and unforgiving path, a good level of fitness is required to reach the mine.
Due to the exposed position and height, the weather conditions could also be less than favorable so suitable clothing is required.
KIT
Full SRT kit, helmet and headlamp. Suitable warm and waterproof clothing. Food and Drink for a full day
